Introduction

Tamoxifen citrate tablets are available with the brand name of Virtutamox. It is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM). It is an antagonist and agonist drug, which acts as an anti-estrogen at specific areas of the body and as an estrogen in other areas.

Virtutamox is used by many anabolic steroid users and also during post cycle therapy (PCT). Use of anabolic steroids suppresses the testosterone production. PCT usually lasts for 3-6 weeks, which helps to regain the testosterone production. Virtutamox contributes to fat burning and lowers the water retention, which gives a shredded physique.

How to take Virtutamox tablets?

Virtutamox tablet should be taken as prescribed by the doctor. The drug can be taken with or without food. The usual recommended oral dosage of Virtutamox is 10 to 40 mg per day for post cycle therapy (PCT). The dosage for gynecomastia treatment can range from 20 to 80 mg per day. Dosages more than 20mg should be divided into two doses i.e. morning and evening.

Overdose and missed dose of Virtutamox tablets

In case of an overdose or missed dose of Virtutamox, take the next scheduled dose when you remember. In case the timing is close to the next dose, it is advisable to skip the dose. Do not take two doses at the same time. Inform the doctor before taking the drug Virtutamox as an overdose or the missed dose may result in complications or may increase the side effects of the drug.

Special populations

• Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should avoid taking Virtutamox tablet as it may cause adverse effects on the baby’s health. Avoid taking Virtutamox tablet while planning for a pregnancy.

• The use of Virtutamox is not recommended in the people below 18 years of age.
